Tips To Help Hide Those Problem Areas During A Boudoir Photo Shoot

Posted on

Boudoir photo shoots can be a little intimidating for anyone. You may have one or two problem areas that you don't want to show up in your photos, and you definitely want to look your best in them. With a little creativity, those problem areas can be hidden and your best features accentuated, you just need to pose and use props correctly. See below for tips to help you with your boudoir photo shoot.

Proper Body Part Placement

Using your own body parts can help hide your problem areas. No, you aren't going to cross your arms across your tummy, but you can use your arms to help hide your tummy in a different way. Bending over for anyone can be unflattering, but with proper arm or hand placement, you can hide that area. Your photographer may have you move your arm forward or back to hide that area from the photo, while still accentuating other areas of your body.

If your problem area is on your waist or side, you can hide it by placing your hands on your waist/side to help hide a wrinkle or roll.

Using Linens

A robe, towel, sheet and, of course, a very sexy men's white collared shirt can all be used to help hide your problem areas. All are great for a boudoir photo shoot and can be used to your advantage. They can be used to hide any problem area. They can be used to wrap around your tummy, hips or arms, while still showing just enough skin to keep the photo sexy.

Using sheer curtains is another great way to hide your problem areas. Leaning into the sheer curtains can help hide a tummy, or using light to your advantage through the curtains can help provide just a silhouette of your body.

Photo Cropping And Focus

Cropping photos can help to get rid of problem areas, while accentuating your best body parts. Zooming in on your best parts can make for a really great photo. Zooming in can help a petite person, as well. It can help give the illusion of more curves.

Focusing on your best parts can help reduce visibility of your problem areas. Have your photographer focus on your assets and then fade or blur your problem areas.

Creative Seating

If you have a problem area on your bottom half, sitting is not always the best pose for you. Try laying down on a bed, with your legs crossed and leaning up on the wall. Have the photo taken from the top of your head, so your best assets are still in view, while your rear isn't visible. Your thighs and legs will look slimmer in this pose.

Standing with your back arched will help to lift your rear end a bit, and will help give the illusion of longer legs.

With some creative positioning, cropping and correct use of props, your boudoir photo shoot will turn out very well, and you will be proud to show off your assets. For more tips, contact a local boudoir photography expert from a company like Elite Pro Photo.
